Suffield Public Schools maintains a continuum of services for eligible special needs children. Services include modifications and accommodations provided within the general education classroom to support children with special needs in regular education, co-teaching services within the general classrooms and related services. Related services include speech/language, occupational, and physical therapy, psychological evaluation specialized consultation, behavioral supports and school counseling and transitional services. Special educational programs with the Suffield Public Schools are designed to ensure that eligible children receive a free and appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment.

The Special Education Profile is a needs assessment/review to examine/identify the strengths, need areas, resources and programmatic priorities to support departmental planning/practice, inform the budgetary process, and to facilitate an open and honest dialogue that promotes trust and transparency among all stakeholders within the Suffield school community. The profile report is organized into seven key program indicators. Suffield Public Schools is proud to announce a collaborative partnership with Community Health Resources (CHR). CHR is a comprehensive mental health provider in our region offering a range of services including individual and family therapy.
CHR will begin offering clinical services at both Suffield Middle School and Suffield High School starting on May 18th.
