School Climate
The Suffield Board of Education is committed to creating and maintaining an educational environment that is physically, emotionally and intellectually safe and thus free from challenging behavior, bullying, teen dating violence, harassment and discrimination.
In accordance with Board of Education Policy 5131.911 and the Connecticut School Climate Policy (Public Act 23-167), each school must develop an annual School Climate Improvement Plan that fosters a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.

2025-2026 School Climate Survey Results
Stakeholder feedback is an essential part of the continuous improvement process in Suffield Public Schools. Each school's Climate Committee reviews survey results and uses the feedback to inform the development of future School Climate Plans.
For the 2026-2027 school year, our school climate priorities include, but are not limited to:
- Strengthening social-emotional learning through the implementation of Fly Five at Spaulding School, the adoption of the updated Fly Five edition at McAlister Intermediate School, and the expansion of RULER to students in our secondary schools.
- Enhancing communication with families.
- Expanding opportunities for positive recognition of students.
