The Grade 5 math curriculum challenges students to think critically, apply problem-solving strategies, and make meaningful mathematical connections across a wide range of topics. Students develop fluency with addition and subtraction of fractions and develop understanding of the multiplication of fractions and of division of fractions in limited cases. In Grade 5, students extend division to 2-digit divisors and develop an understanding of volume.

The Grade 5 ELA curriculum is designed to transition students into advanced literary analysis and complex informational research. Spanning nine comprehensive units, the program balances historical exploration, scientific inquiry, and creative expression to prepare students for the rigors of middle school.

The Grade 5 Unified Arts curriculum offers a comprehensive and engaging exploration of the arts, providing students with opportunities to build foundational skills while deepening their creative expression and developing individual artistic identities. This interdisciplinary program supports 21st-century learning through intentional, hands-on STEM experiences, alongside a music curriculum that strengthens core concepts such as rhythm, vocal development, and early ensemble skills. In Physical Education and Health, students develop movement proficiency, collaboration, and an understanding of lifelong wellness practices. Regular Library experiences further strengthen information literacy skills and promote independent reading and a sustained appreciation for literature.
