The future of Suffield Middle School is one of the most important long-term community conversations currently underway in our town. Following an extensive Conditions Assessment and Master Plan completed by Tecton Architects in 2023, the Middle School campus was identified as one of the Town’s highest facility priorities based on building condition, infrastructure needs, educational programming, and long-term operational considerations.

 

While the town and school district have invested in ongoing maintenance and repairs to the middle school, the facility's needs now involve major systems such as HVAC, roofing, accessibility, electrical infrastructure, and overall building layout, and require comprehensive planning and coordinated investment. As planning has continued, three potential scenarios for the future of Suffield Middle School have been developed and presented to the community.
