(d) Health Examinations

(i)   Drug and Alcohol Testing for School Bus Drivers

In a continuing effort to prevent accidents and injuries resulting from the use of drugs and misuse of alcohol by drivers of commercial vehicles, the District shall require that any contractor providing transportation service for the Suffield School System will establish a drug and alcohol testing program that meets the requirements of federal regulations.    This assurance shall be contained within any contract approved by the District.

The District's may require an employee to undergo a drug and alcohol test which could include pre-employment testing, reasonable suspicion, random, post-accident, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing of drivers.
