(f) Personal/Family and Medical Leave
The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for leaves taken by employees of the Suffield Board of Education under the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993. The policy will be effective July 1, 2008.
Eligibility: Employees who have worked for the Board of Education for at least twelve (12) months and who have worked at least 1,250 hours in the 12 months preceding commencement of the requested leave may submit a written request to the Superintendent or his/her designee seeking up to twelve (12) weeks of unpaid leave in accordance with the federal Family and Medical Leave Act ("FMLA"_) 29 U.S.C. section 2601 et seq.
