Advisory Door Decorating Challenge

Great job to all students in the Advisory Door Decorating Challenge!  Everyone worked hard with their classmates (and no help from the teachers!) to make a plan and create a door decoration that exemplifies our Core Four values; respect, responsibility, kindness, and safety.  It was hard work but they all turned out excellent.  We were also lucky to have some guest judges Ms. Karen Berasi and Mr. Brian Hendrickson who helped Mr. Pearce and Ms. Molden pick the winner for each grade level.  It was a tough choice but, congratulations to the students in Mr. Clarke’s FLEX, Mrs. Gardocki’s FLEX, and Ms. Witt’s FLEX!

Pep Rally

During school on Friday 4/15 we held a pep rally getting everyone ready for the big Faculty/Student basketball game. The teachers and students showed off their tricks to get everyone pumped up. That night the teachers and the students had a grueling match down to the last few seconds. The teachers pulled it off and won the game by a point….but the students are already for a rematch next year!

Congratulations to all of our students who participated in the gymnastics show.  Everyone did a wonderful job and worked really hard for all of their events.  The talent was amazing and many students had greatly improved from when gymnastics began.  Great work everyone!

Chromebook Collection Information

Dear Families,

As I write this letter I am in shock that there is only a month and half left of school! It has been a year with much excitement as we rolled out our Chromebooks in September. These tools have proved to have a positive impact on our learning environment and we hope that they can stand the test of time. With that in mind we will start "spot checking" Chromebooks to get the ball rolling on any repairs that may need to happen now to prepare for our collection at the end of the year. Teachers will be sending students to our Junior S.W.A.T. team if they feel there is anything that needs to be addressed on their device. We also ask that you take a minute at home to check in on your child's device and its condition.

As a reminder the insurance and coverage letter is posted to our Suffield Public School website. This will be a helpful guide as you look over the device.

Here are important dates to remember for Chromebook collection:

April 25 – June 10

Spot Checks of Chromebooks

June 9 and 10

Teachers will collect students Chromebooks and chargers (students will keep their cases for the following year)

June 14

All payments are due

It is important that this timeline is met so that we can efficiently repair, maintain, and reissue Chromebooks next fall. We thank you in advance for your partnership with this exciting initiative. Overall it has been a positive experience and we look forward to continuing to provide devices to our students to enhance their educational experience here at Suffield Middle School.

Respectfully Yours,

Ashley Molden
Assistant Principal
